MATRIX RELAXATION PROCESS IN MALDI

We study the matrix relaxation process in MALDI using a Nd:YAG picosecond laser (EKSMA Co., Lituania). The laser beam is split and hits the sample twice at different moments in time. By varying the time interval between the two shots by the mean of a delay line, we notice some differences in the analytical signals and hope to attribute them to elementary physicochemical processes (relaxation of the matrix for example).
